Bio:
Ed Powers began his martial arts training in 1989 studying Isshinryu Karate with Master Gary Yano. Currently Ed is a 6th Degree Black Belt and Master Instructor at Powers Martial Arts Academy. Ed is always trying to increase his knowledge in the martial arts so in 2005 with the realization that most fights end up on the ground; he began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Laurita Marital Arts earning his white belt with four stripes. In July, of 2007 Ed was introduced to Adam Wilson who moved to the Lorain County area and began to train and instruct Jiu-Jitsu at Powers Martial arts Academy. Through Adam, Ed met Bill Jones and Tony Renaldi of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Self Defense Academy located in Boardman Ohio. In August of 2007 with the help of Tony Renaldi, Powers Martial Arts Academy became an official affiliate school of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Pedro Sauer team. Ed was awarded his blue belt in January 2008 by Professor Sauer.
